cut up project

I think doing the cut up project is neat, although it really does drive me nuts that I can't actually make the sentences and paragraphs coherent, but I guess that's the point, right? It gives me a completely different view on the elements of good writing. As students, one thing that professors are constantly on us about is being creative, and this project is an excellent way for us to be creative, but throwing words, sentences, and paragraphs together to form an entirely new meaning. At first, I did think it was a bit strange that we were allowed to use the work of somebody else, but now I realize what the point is, and how it ties into the class.

This makes me think back to the video we watched at the beginning of the semester, about the guy that mixes different beats to create a new one entirely. I think this is an excellent project to do as a future teacher, with a group of high school students to, a) get their creative juices flowing and b) teach them about the rights and wrongs of plagerism! Overall, I'm liking this project!
